Ex-Minister, and Amira Kadal MLA, Altaf Bukhari on Friday lashed at government for not consulting legislators in the works of their respective constituencies.

Bukhari stated that he was not consulted when foundation stone of two parking lots was laid in his constituency.

He was speaking on discussions to grants on Power, Local and Urban Bodies.

“When foundation stone was laid I being a local representative was not even informed about the event,” Bukhari said.

“This is not in this case this has been happening in all sectors of this government,” he said , “perhaps they don’t need MLAs”

He was supported by the members of the opposition who also alleged that, they are not invited and informed about such events in their constituencies.

Later Deputy Speaker of the house directed government to take strong note of the issue directing that, “local legislators must be consulted and his opinion should be taken on board.”

Later Bukhari also urged government to look into the street lights of the Srinagar city saying that people are facing lot of inconvenience.

“Leave the smart city, create first a smart street so that people are saved from street dogs,” he said. “The city has tuned desolate and deserted and history will decide who turned city to this.”

Pertinently, the foundation stone laid at the SDA parking lot in Amira Kadal, the constituency of Bukhari, didn’t even mention his name.
