A day after arriving back to Srinagar from NIA questioning, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that government is using agencies to pressurize pro-freedom leaders of Kashmir.

Mirwaiz addresses Friday congregational prayers at jamiaMasjidd Srinagar on April 12, 2019.

Addressing a Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar, Mirwaiz said during the questioning by NIA he told the investigating agency that Kashmir issue has to be resolved politically. He also said that Kashmiris are a victim of pellet guns and are being harassed on a daily basis.

Commenting on the NIA summon, Mirwaiz said that he is not scared of any threats and neither will he succumb to any pressure.

Meanwhile, Mirwaiz tweeted; “At Jamia, draw my strength from faith in almighty and prayers and support of people. The pulpit of Jamia will always provide religious guidance and raise the people’s strong voice for resolution of the lingering Kashmir issue. It’s the best guarantee of lasting peace in the region.”
