SRINAGAR: Haji Ghulam Mohammad Dar, father of noted pnews camera man, Merajuddin has passed away. He was almost80 years of age. He passed away at his Rawalpora home on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at around 8:40 pm.
Dar, basically a resident of Shorgari Mohalla in Nawab Bazaar, was a shopkeeper for most of his life.
He complained of chest pain and was driven to hospital where he stayed for a few days. It was eventually an MRI that detected certain problems beyond the possibility of recovery, family sources said. He was later driven home where he breathed his last on Sunday evening.
Dar was laid to rest at their ancestral graveyard near Sofi Masjid in Buchpora.
Family sources said the joint Fateh will be offered at his graveyard on Friday, February 7, 2020, at around 2:30 pm. Later another Fateh will be offered at their residence, Hose No 17, JK Lane, Mehboob Abad, Rawalpora.
Dar almost entire family is with the visual media. Merajudin works for the APTN along with his son Omar. His cousins also serve the global news agencies. Dar is survived by two sons, one of whom lives in Nawa Kadal.
