Expressing anguish over the arrest of Masrat Alam, Dukhtaran-e- Milat Chairperson, Syedah Aasiya Andrabi Friday said the said arrest made it clear that Indian agencies and Indian Media have direct control on Kashmir and a mere police constable is more powerful than the ‘puppet Chief Minister’ of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement to CNS, Aasiya Andrabi said, “Indian occupational government is hurt by our pro-active movement based on just cause which is acknowledged by UN but keep eyes closed when our youth are killed and butchered by uniformed occupational forces and when we raise voice against these brutal acts we are arrested beaten and our movement is curbed and freedom curtailed.”

She asked government of India for how long, “It will curb our movement as it has been practising this harsh and unjustified attitude since last 7 decades but could not break our will and determination for freedom from India. You can arrest us, kill us or hang us but our sentiments and urge for freedom from India and merger with Pakistan can never be changed or diluted.”

Aasiya Andrabi while supporting the strike call announced by Syed Ali Geelani appealed people to hold Valley wide protests on Saturday. She thanked Pakistan for showing “deep concern for ongoing freedom movement”.

“Pakistan once again proved that they have been backing our struggle and their hearts are touched on witnessing our atrocities by Indian occupational forces,” she said.
