District Bar Association in Mirpur (PaK) has invited around 28 leading lawyers from J&K, Pakistani newspaper the Nation reported. They have been invited to attend a National Kashmir Conference of Lawyers on January 21.

The newspaper quoted the Mirpur bar President Zulfiqar Ahmad Raja saying that the objective of the congregation of legal fraternity from both the sides of the LoC is to “attract the immediate attention of the international community”. He said that the Bar has invited top lawyers from J&K, Gilgit-Baltisatan, Muzaffarabad, Islamabad and Delhi.

Invitations have been extended to, according to the newspaper, Mian Abdul Qayyum, Sunil Sethi, Imriaz Mir (Doda), Hafeezur Rehman (Udhampur), Tahir Khursheed Raina (Rajouri-Poonch), Syed Fasil Qadri (Srinagar), Sheikh Manzoor Ahmed (Jammu), AV Gupta (Srinagar), Justice (r) Bilal Nazki, Abdul Rashid Hanjura, Sarfraz Hamid Rather (Poonch), Ch Liaqat Hussain, Shabnam Lone (Kupwara), Muhammad Ashraf (Srinagar), Ghulam Shaheen (Srinagar), AH Mughal (Jammu), Justice (r) Annand, Mirza Abdul Rasheed (Jammu), and Zaffar Ullad (Rajouri.

Others who have been invited include Ram Jeth Melani, Rajindar Sachar, Bhim Singh, JA Kazmi, Mir Hafeezullah, Dr Saif Mahmood, Tabassam Mughal, and Yousaf Tarehgami.
