JKP LogoJammu and Kashmir government Monday announced that the new recruitments in Jammu and Kashmir police shall be done through private firms so that process is ‘transparent and expeditious’.

“In a landmark decision that shall have a bearing on the process of future recruitments in the State, the Government today decided to engage reputed placement firms to make recruitments in the Police Department at non-gazetted level to fill nearly 4,000 posts lying vacant at various positions,” an official statement said this evening.

The Government shall hire services of the most-reputed private firms with proven track record for recruiting the best available talent in the State in a fair and transparent manner.

“This decision was taken in order to fill up these posts in the shortest possible time to improve the functioning of the Police department. The Home Department has been asked to take necessary steps in this regard,” the statement said.

It added that the State Government is also mulling to adopt similar mechanism to make recruitments in the Fire & Emergency Services Department.
