NTA Postpones UGC-NET Exam Scheduled on Jan 15

   

SRINAGAR: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the postponement of the UGC-NET December 2024 examination originally scheduled for January 15, 2025. This decision was made in response to multiple requests from aspirants, citing conflicts with festivals, including Pongal and Makar Sankranti.

According to an official notice released on Monday, the exams scheduled for January 16, 2025, will proceed as planned, while the revised date for the January 15 examination will be announced in due course.

The subjects whose exams were scheduled on January 15 include Sanskrit, Mass Communication and Journalism, Japanese, Performing Art, Electronic Science, Women Studies, Law, Nepali, Indian Knowledge System, Malayalam, Urdu, Human Resource Management, Criminology, Regional Literature, Folk Literature, Konkani and Environmental Sciences.

The UGC-NET December 2024 examination is being conducted for the purposes of awarding Junior Research Fellowships, appointing Assistant Professors, and granting admission to PhD programmes. The tests are being held across 85 subjects in a computer-based mode from January 3 to January 16, 2025.
