SUMBAL

Alleged lack of fool proof arrangements for observance of Muharram at various places of Sumbal Sonawari sparked protests on Friday.

Scores of Peoples Democratic Party workers assembled at Tehsil Office and alleged that government has failed to make proper arrangements for observance of Muharram in several hamlets of North Kashmir’s Sumbal tehsil including Inderkot, Nowgam, Ghonsipora and Dumpora.

The protestors led by PDP District President Bandipora, Yasir Reshi alleged that Shia populated areas are reeling under darkness during these sacred days of Muharram while no ration and timber have been provided to the people.

“Government has failed to redress the problems of people. People are suffering while government is in deep slumber,” Reshi told CNS demanding fool proof arrangements for the observance of Muharam in Sumbal Sonawari.
