The senior separatist leader and Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has condemned the Shopian killings, mysterious death of Abdul Rashid Gazi and unabated killings of innocent youth by forces and said such incidents are unacceptable.

As per a party statement, Geelani has called for a complete shutdown on September 14 and 15, and has said that “it will serve a clear message to international community that the struggle for withdrawal of Indian forces will continue till nation achieves freedom.”

Geelani while terming ‘forced occupation of India’ the main reason for the present situation, said, “Now is the time for decisive fight and all of us should come forward to make an end to this forced occupation. Let people snap their ties with all preoccupation political parties.”

In his appeal to people Geelani has stressed to stage protest demonstrations after Friday prayers against recent killings. And he has also requested the people to safeguard the honor, propriety and places of worship of minority communities including Sikhs, Bodh, Hindu and Christians and added, “It is our religious duty to take care of these communities.”
