SRINAGAR: A government officer in Srinagar was taken off duty because a patrol party reportedly made Muslims at a mosque in Pulwama say “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai” slogans.
The officer was removed due to criticism on social media, NDTV reported. The incident supposedly happened in Zadoora village, Pulwama district, on Saturday morning. Neither the army nor the police have given an official statement about it yet.
According to NDTV, senior officers visited the village and reassured the people that they are looking into the matter and will take appropriate action.
