Train in Kashmir

Train services in Kashmir valley were Saturday suspended by an order by the authorities citing “security reasons” following a call of shutdown by separatist groups against the arrest of Prof SAR Geelani and JNU students.

A railway official said that rail services remain suspended for today.

An order issued by JKP on Friday, accessed by Kashmir Life, directs SSP Railways Kashmir that the train services may be suspended today. “In view of impending Law and Order situation in the Valley tomorrow on 27th February 2016, the Baramulla-Banihal rail service may please be suspended tomorrow,” the order reads.
