SRINAGAR: Security forces on Saturday arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) affiliated with a terrorist outfit and recovered arms and ammunition in the Ketsun Binlipora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
“A joint team of the 27 Assam Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended the OGW during a routine checking operation at Ketsun Binlipora. The arrested individual has been identified as Bashir Ahmad, a 48-year-old resident of Halmatpora, Aloosa. He was found in possession of one Chinese grenade and 11 rounds of an AK-47 rifle,” officials said.
A case has been registered under relevant sections at Police Station Bandipora, and further investigation is underway, the official added. (JKNS)
