SRINAGAR: An old, rusted shell was recovered and subsequently destroyed by security forces in the Balnoi area of Poonch district on Friday.
Officials said that some locals found the old, rusted shell in the land of one Mohammad Rafiq, a resident of Balnoi, today.
Soon, a team of police and army reached the spot and subsequently summoned the Bomb Disposal Squad.
The BDS, with utmost care, destroyed the old shell without causing any damage, they said. (GNS)
