Omar Abdullah Visits Mirwaiz, Offers Condolences

   

Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday visited the residence of Dr Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi in Hyderpora, who passed away on 27 February.

Dr Sibtain was the brother of NC leader Hasnain Masoodi and the father-in-law of Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq.

Omar Abdullah offered condolences to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Hasnain Masoodi, expressing solidarity with the bereaved family and praying for the departed soul.

In a post on X, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, “Today, I visited Hyderpora to express my deepest condolences to former MP and MLA Pampore, Retd. Justice Hasnain Masoodi Sahib, on the passing of his brother, Dr Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi. I also offered my sympathies to Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq and the entire family during this difficult time. May Allah grant the departed soul Jannat-ul-Firdous. I was accompanied by MLA Mushtaq Guroo and Mudassar Shahmiri,” the post read.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has said that its Vice President and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, visited Hyderpora in Srinagar to offer condolences to former MP and MLA Pampore, Justice Hasnain Masoodi, on the passing of his brother, Dr Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi.

During this solemn occasion, he also extended his sympathies to Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq, the son-in-law of the deceased.

Earlier in the day, Omar Abdullah visited Raj Bagh to express condolences to the Kapra and Sheikh families on their recent bereavements. The party noted that prominent trader Ghulam Nabi Kapra and former DIG Kashmir Sheikh Hafiz Akhtar had passed away. Omar Abdullah offered prayers and conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families during this difficult time.

He was accompanied by MLA Channapora Mushtaq Guroo, MLA Lal Chowk Ahsan Pardesi, MLA Uri Dr Sajjad Shafi, his Political Advisor Mudassar Shahmiri, and State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar. The delegation collectively offered prayers for the departed souls and wished strength for the grieving families.
