SRINAGAR

Giving a new twist to the political deadlock in Jammu and Kashmir, the outgoing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has, media reports say, decided not to continue as ‘Caretaker CM’ of state.

Pertinently, as the December 23 assembly poll results threw up a hung assembly, Governor NN Vohra had asked Omar to continue as Caretaker CM till new dispensation is in place.

The Abdullah family scion has argued that beleaguered state needs a full-time administrator to deal with the situation along the border with Pakistan.

The reports cited Omar’s last night meeting with Vohra in New Delhi after his 12 day long visit to his ailing parents in London.
