Reacting to an action against IAS officer Shah Faesal, former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Vice-president National Conference Omar Abdullah came out in defense of Shah Faesal, who faces disciplinary action for his posts on Twitter and Facebook.

Omar while replying to a Journalist Brajesh Kumar Singh in a series of tweets wrote: “You have no problem when officers from Rajasthan & elsewhere defy “set norms of governance & conduct” yet Faesal’s tweet about rape bothers you. Somehow this doesn’t surprise me at all!.”

In another tweet, Omar wrote: “So because Faesal & I are Muslim we must take our benchmarks from Pakistan. Now your khaki knickers really suit you. BTW I don’t know about Pakistan but in India, it would be a fair idea & not a “fare” idea. No spelling lessons in the shakha???.”

Earlier, the government of India asked the Jammu and Kashmir government to initiate departmental action against IAS officer Shah Faesal for what it said violating the All India Services (conduct rules) through a tweet.
