Claiming of foiling an infiltration bid at Line of Control (LoC) in Pallanwan sector of Jammu & Kashmir, army killed an “intruder” in an encounter. The Army also claimed to recover an AK-47 rifle from the possession of the deceased.

The troops noticed suspicious movement of 2-3 persons in Lalyali forward belt along LoC in at around 8.30 pm on Sunday night and challenged them, PRO Defence SN Acharya said.

The Army opened fire on the “intruders”, who entered Indian territory, SN Acharya said and added that one “intruder” was killed in the firing. During search operation conducted by the Army, the body of an intruder, believed to be aged between 42-45 years was found.
