Srinagar

One-way traffic continued to ply on Srinagar-Jammu highway with hundreds of vehicles leaving Jammu for Kashmir on Sunday morning.

However, Leh-Srinagar highway, connecting Ladakh region with the valley, and historic Mughal road remained closed for traffic due to the accumulation of several feet of snow.

An official said that all stranded vehicles, mostly trucks, were cleared on Saturday night.

Hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying passengers, left from different parts of Jammu for Kashmir on the highway early morning, a traffic official said.

He said both Light Motor Vehicles and Heavy Motor Vehicles will be allowed to ply on the highway with some restrictions.

He said vehicles will not be allowed from the opposite direction.
