One-way traffic continued to ply on Srinagar-Jammu highway with hundreds of vehicles leaving Jammu for Kashmir on Sunday morning.

Hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying passengers, left from Jammu for Kashmir on the highway early on Saturday morning, a traffic official said.

“Over 1,000 tankers carrying petroleum products reached the valley on Saturday. Around 4,000 trucks, with nearly 500 of them carrying fresh vegetables, mutton, poultry products and other essential commodities, are expected to reach later today,” he said.

However, no vehicle will be allowed to move on after the cut of hours, he said, adding vehicles will not be allowed from the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, Leh-Srinagar highway, connecting Ladakh region with the valley, and historic Mughal road remained closed for traffic from last about two months due to the accumulation of several feet of snow.
