The decisions were taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, to streamline facilities at the world-famous ski and tourist destination. The meeting was attended by key officials including the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Director Tourism Kashmir, MD Cable Car Corporation, and others.

The Div Com directed the Cable Car Corporation to implement the increased online quota with immediate effect and ensure that the new tatkal system is efficient and transparent.

Addressing broader issues affecting the tourist experience, Bidhuri emphasised the need for cleanliness across the Gulmarg bowl, including waste collection from Apharwat and Kongdoori, and tackling legacy waste. He also called for pothole-free roads, better traffic regulation, parking management, and strict enforcement of the polythene ban in the region.

He directed all departments to work in coordination to ensure hassle-free and high-quality services for tourists, reiterating that Gulmarg must maintain its reputation as a world-class destination.
