SRINAGAR: Digital marketing may not be a new idea outside Jammu and Kashmir but in our part of the world it is yet in its introductory stage. Etrolley is the first of its kind e-commerce store designed to meet the needs of the local consumers in Kashmir.

According to a statement the company was launched two months back amid severe Covid-19 lockdown, the on-line essential commodities store has been doing a wonderful job to meet the demands of the customers, especially at a time when restrictions on people’s movement due to corona-virus have left us curfewed inside our homes.

“The Etrolley provides at-home delivery of each and every essential commodity used in our homes and kitchens,” said the statement.

The statement said that the idea of Etrolley emerged between the two friends Junaid Rashid and Rouf Wani who are successfully running a company called Workoll in Dubai.

“Separated from their families by the Covid-19, their concern about the health and safety of their families made them think of a way which could provide an alternative to the risk of exposing oneself to the deadly virus by going out for shopping,” it said.

“We were a lot more concerned about the threat posed by Covid-19 to our families and society at large. it was at this point of time that we gathered our resources back in Kashmir and thought to give it a start.” Said Junaid Rashid, the CEO of the Company.

“We thought this could be our way of contributing to the people and society we belong to. We would consider ourselves fortunate enough if we can do something for our people in this time of distress,” adds Rouf Wani, who is the Co-founder and CTO of the company.

“Customers don’t have to move out and expose themselves to the threat of coronavirus. They order online for their products and we provide them at their doors. What sets us apart is our wide range of products and services which includes grocery, Fruits and vegetables, Household items, Home and Kitchen appliances, Books and Fast food and bakery,” he said.

“We have Partnered with most reputed names in the valley like Just Baked, 14th Avenue, Chick Blast, Al Samad, and Lhasa, for fast food. In order to keep the people occupied with productive learning we have collaborated with one of the oldest and most reputed Book Vendor of Kashmir  Gulshan Books,” said Junaid.

“Similarly, we are coming up with the Home appliances section for our clients and have partnered with Big Boss Lal Chowk who is again a famous name here,” he said.

“We are happy that our consumer confidence index is rising, and our customers are happy not only with our prompt service but also with the quality of products,” he said adding “we have cultivated scores of permanent customers in Srinagar.”

The Etrolley is reaching out to customers in south Kashmir as well. “Pulwama is already in our list of operations. We are extending it to Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag soon”, he said.

The Etrolley is in touch with some young entrepreneurs in north Kashmir as well, and is likely to extend its operations to Sopore, Kupwara and Baramullah as their expansion, said the statement.

“They are soon to start operations in the Ladakh region. The Etrolley is soon adding clothing, footwear and medicines too to its cart to make it a complete on-line store,” it said.

“In order to make the shopping experience of their clients more easy and comfortable, Etrolley has launched the Webstore, android app and are working on the launch of IOs app as well,” said the statement.
