All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani asked Kashmiri Pandits to oppose the planned “townships” for them.

Holding CM Mehbooba Mufti responsible for “RSS’ anti-Kashmir plans”, Geelani said that the APHC-g will not allow an “Sainik Colony” in Kashmir.

APHC-g held its advisory council (Majlis-i-Shoora) meet at Hyderpora on Monday which was addressed by ailing Geelani, a statement issued by the Hurriyat amalgam said last late evening.

The meeting thoroughly discussed the proposals of the “Sainik Colonies”, separate Townships for Kashmiri Pandits, induction of the New Industrial Policy and announcement of medical colleges after the Supreme Court decision on NEET and to counter these dangerous plans, the executive body also discussed the future strategies in this regard.

While summing-up the suggestions and views of members of the advisory council, Geelani in his presidential address said, “India is working on different plans to strengthen and prolong its forced and illegal occupation in Jammu & Kashmir and the inception of the new BJP-PDP coalition government has accelerated the implementation of these plans and the communal forces are using the government machinery for the implementation of the RSS agenda.”

“Mehbooba Mufti Ji and her party (PDP) are extending their every help and cooperation in the execution of these communal agendas and she has sold the collective interests and the identity of the Kashmiri nation for the chair,” the octogenarian Hurriyat leader said.

Geelani said that the recent statements of the right wing Hindu nationalist BJP leaders regarding “Sainik Colony” “have proven that Mehbooba Mufti, her cabinet ministers and some officials of the civil administration are lying over this issue and are keeping the people in dark”.

“The circumstantial evidences indicate that Ms Mehbooba Mufti and the Bhajpa had already entered into some agreement with regard to the establishment of the Sainik Colony and this deal had deliberately been kept hidden from the general public,” the ailing leader claimed.

On the issue of separate townships for the Kashmiri Pandits, Geelani reiterated his part stand that “no Kashmiri is opposing or is against the return of the Pandits to Valley”.

“Both the communities have lived in harmony in the past and they will continue to do so in the future,” he said, “however, the policy makers of India want to divide the two communities on the religious lines and want to project Kashmir as a communal issue.”

“Kashmir is not any Hindu-Muslim issue but it is the battle between an oppressor and the oppressed and we are fighting India because this country has snatched the freedom rights of the people of Jammu & Kashmir and we want that it (India) should fulfil its promises made with the Kashmiris on national and international levels,” he said.

Making an appeal to the Pandit community that “they should not” support the any such proposal or plan which will “cut off” them from the rest of the society and “which will harm” the brotherhood of the Kashmiri nation,” Geelani out rightly rejected the new Industrial Policy.

The Hurriyat Conference (g) Chairperson said, “India wants to weaken the special status of the Kashmir in every possible way and want to convert the Muslim majority into minorities here. This country wants to settle non-state subjects in the Jammu & Kashmir on different names and schemes and wants to snatch the livelihood of the Kashmiri traders and businessmen. For this purpose the RSS backed government has formulated a new industrial policy which will open the doors for the Indian industrialists in the state.”

Terming the announcement of the new medical colleges in the state as “Lollipopí”, Geelani said, “these colleges will admit non-local students and they will be like the NIT Srinagar.”

“We will not let the RSS and the Sangh Parivar to succeed in their evil designs in Kashmir and the Kashmiri people will resist them in every possible way,” he asserted.

“Hurriyat Conference takes its responsibilities very seriously and it will not show any kind of weakness or negligence in this regard,” he added. “We always welcome tourists in Kashmir with open arms and our nation feels pride in serving them but for not disturbing the upcoming tourist season, we can’t shut our eyes from our national responsibilities and it is not possible to ignore the wicked policies of the RSS and Jan Sangh. We want to warn the BJP-PDP coalition government that if they fail to halt the above mentioned anti-Kashmir plans and any misuse of the government machinery it will trigger a sharp and serious reaction from the general public and they can sacrifice anything for their existence.”
