Jammu: The opposition National Conference and Congress on Wednesday decided to boycott Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s speech in the Assembly demanding a statement on the killing of a youth in Kulgam district.
Earlier, the opposition created uproar in the House and demanded a response from the government over the killing of a youth in Khudwani area of Kulgam on Tuesday..
“We raised the issue of Civilian killing in the house on Tuesday. We hoped the chief minister will come to the house and issue the statement on Kulgam’s Civilian killing, adding that she will come to the house later today to give the motion on governor’s address.”
Minister for parliamentary affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri told the House that the government has ordered magisterial inquiry to probe the killing.
The opposition said, “we will not listen to the address of Chief Minister and will boycott the address.”
