The joint resistance leadership on Wednesday said that they will hold a sit-in protest at Ganta Ghar in Lalchowk today afternoon.

The announcement for the protest was made by JKLF chairperson Yasin Malik in Abu Guzar mosque, where he and Mirwaiz Unar along with the resistance activists have assembled.

Earlier, Tehreek-e Hurriyat Chief Syed Ali Shah Geelani addressing over telephone ahead of the trio’s joint presser said that struggle of Kashmiris will “continue till they are given their basic right of self determination”.

“Kashmir valley particularly southern Kashmir districts are facing worst onslaught and oppression at the hands of government forces.”

The octogenarian Geelani demanded that “Operation All-Out” should immediately stop and all those Kashmiris who have been arrested by the Government forces should be freed from the jail.

“Till the military occupation of J&K does not end, our fight for basic right shall continue,” Geelani vowed.

Umer Farooq, the head priest of Kashmir, also addressed the gathering and along with Yasin Malik, JKLF chairman.

Malik said that the resistance leaders are suffering like never before, and most of the leaders have been lodged in jails through the country.

“We will march from here to Lal Chowk and we will sit on the road” Malik said.
