The anti polythene squad headed by its anti polythene officer Mir Mansoor seized more than hundred kgs of polythene from Pinchi mandi (vegetable market) at Baginansingh while conducting its routine market check in the city.

At least 50 kg polythene was recovered from a Godown owned by Basheer Ahmed at pinchi mandi. The Godown was sealed immediately after the recovery of banned polythene lot in presence of Chief Sanitation Officer Manzoor Ahmed Turray.

Another shop outside the same market was put under seal after the shopkeeper dealing with packaging material was raided at his residential place, Firdousabaad on specific information. At least 45 kgs of polythene was recovered from his house.

An FIR against both the offenders has been lodged in the concerned police station of the area.

“All such people shall be taken to task who shall violate the orders of Honorable High Court which clearly emphasizes the implementation of ban on use of polythene carry bags,” said Manzoor Ahmed Turray.
