Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Surankote Mohammad Saleem Qureshi said that 105 trucks continue to remain stranded due to bad weather conditions.

He said that so far nearly 3 feet snow has accumulated at Pir Ki Gali and its adjoining areas along the Mughal road.

The drivers and conductors have been provided with the shelter and food by the army’s nearby 16 RR unit, Qureshi said.

The Mughal road, connecting the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu region with south Kashmir’s Shopian district, was closed on Thursday following the fresh snowfall in the area, he said.

The road will be reopened once the weather conditions improve, the officer said.
