SRINAGAR: Northern Railway’s Jammu division on Monday felicitated over 200 employees from the operating and commercial departments for their service during ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, Uchit Singhal, handed over certificates to 209 employees at a special programme organised by the railways to acknowledge their dedicated work.
“The main aim of the programme was to honour the employees of the operating and commercial departments who provided essential services during Operation Sindoor,” Singhal said.
He said all trains were operated as per schedule, and the commercial department helped passengers reach their destinations safely during the tense period.
“The staff ensured the safety and comfort of passengers, especially those coming from outside, and helped them reach their destinations,” he added.
He said several reserved special trains were also operated in the Jammu division to assist stranded passengers.
The Railway Ministry had issued a special advisory for all staff in light of Operation Sindoor.
“The advisory was strictly followed. Employees also ensured priority reservation, station accommodation, and proper seating for Indian Army personnel,” Singhal said. (KNO)
