He said that teams of the Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are working in close coordination with the Divisional Commissioner’s office to ensure timely rescue and relief. “We are ensuring adequate supply of relief materials and extending all possible assistance to those affected,” the LG stated.

Sinha also held discussions with Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, and other senior officials to take stock of the situation. He directed authorities to prioritise the restoration of electricity, water supply and communication facilities in areas where floodwaters have started receding.

Rescue and relief operations are continuing across several districts as heavy rains over the past 48 hours have led to rising water levels and inundation in many areas.
