SRINAGAR: More than 9.22 lakh youth from Jammu and Kashmir have registered on the Centre’s MY Bharat platform, which has recorded over 2.50 crore registrations nationwide, the Lok Sabha was informed on Monday.
According to State/UT-wise data placed before the House, JK accounts for 9,22,663 registrations on the platform. Ladakh has recorded 40,083 registered youth.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports said the MY Bharat platform provides opportunities for volunteering, experiential learning, community service and participation in national initiatives.
Nationwide, more than 10.93 lakh youth have applied across 1.93 lakh Volunteer for Bharat programmes, while 1.24 lakh applications have been recorded for 25,131 Experiential Learning Programmes. More than 63 lakh youth have participated in quizzes and over 1.43 lakh essay submissions have been received through the portal.
The government said 175 Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect programmes had been conducted till July 2026 in 175 universities and institutions across the country, engaging 34,500 students.
As part of the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat campaign, events were organised at more than 28,000 locations on August 2, with participation from over one crore youth, according to the ministry.
The government said MY Bharat and the National Service Scheme are being used to promote volunteerism, leadership development, community service and social awareness through activities covering environmental conservation, health and sanitation, disaster preparedness, digital literacy, sports and substance-abuse awareness.
It said special emphasis was being placed on youth from rural, tribal, border, remote, aspirational and Left Wing Extremism-affected districts through initiatives including Tribal and Border Area Youth Exchange Programmes.
However, the Centre clarified that funds under the Department of Youth Affairs are allocated scheme-wise rather than State/UT-wise, and therefore State-wise allocation and utilisation figures are not maintained.
The ministry said the initiatives are being implemented in accordance with the approved Annual Action Plan, including targeted interventions for 2026-27 aimed at ensuring inclusive participation of youth across the country.
