Responding to a question raised by MLA Pulwama, Waheed Para, the department confirmed that the Aadhaar-linked registration process has been successfully completed across all government departments in the Union Territory.

According to the data shared, the Power Development Department (including PDC) accounted for the highest number of registered workers at 38,585, followed by the Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control Department (PHE/IFC) with 13,616, and the Education Department with 12,646 employees.

Significant figures were also reported from the Forest Department (8,317), Public Works (RB) Department (6,801), and the Health and Medical Education Department (4,868).

The GAD stated that the registered employees include casual labourers, seasonal and daily-rated workers, part-time employees, CIC operators, NYC workers, hospital fund employees, and others engaged on need-based arrangements.

The profiling exercise, the department said, aims to streamline workforce data and enhance transparency in the engagement and management of casual and daily-rated workers across Jammu Kashmir.
