Overnight, 4466 People Went Home Recovered As Covid19 Infected 3848, Killed 43


SRINAGAR: With the lockdown crossing the third week and consuming the vital festival of the population, the costs dictated by the invisible contagion are surging with every passing day. Now Jammu and Kashmir has one case of black fungus in Jammu also.

In the last 24 hours, Jammu and Kashmir lost 46 people as fresh 3848 cases were detected across 20 districts of the erstwhile state.

Kashmir lost 16 citizens and Jammu 27 in the last 24 hours.

But what is rarely being seen is that more people return home from hospitals fully recovered than the new tally of infections. In the last 24 hours, as many as 4466 people recovered thus reducing the number of active cases to 49893. The recoveries included 1730 cases in Jammu and 2736 in Kashmir.

Now the death toll of Covid19 in Jammu and Kashmir is 3465 people including 1826 in Kashmir and 1639 in Jammu.

As many as 15 deaths took place in Jammu city and seven in Srinagar city, the information revealed by the government said.

The district-wise details suggest that Kashmir lost four citizens in Baramulla, two each in Pulwama and Kuowara and one in Kulgam.

Apart from 15 deaths reported from Jammu city, the region lost three citizens in Kathua, two each in Udhampur, Poonch and Reasi and one each in Rajouri, Doda and Samba.

In the last 24 hours, officials said 3848 new Covid-19 positives were reported from across Jammu and Kashmir. Of them, Srinagar alone accounted for 598. Jammu, the other capital of the erstwhile state reported 401 cases.

Of the new cases detected in the last 24 hours, Kashmir accounts for 2406 cases against 1442 of the Jammu division.

In Kashmir, the new cases include 320 from Baramulla, 344 from Budgam, 224 from Pulwama, 204 from Kupwara, 303 from Anantnag, 103 from Bandipora, 125 from Ganderbal, 121 from Kulgam, and 62 from Shopian.

From Jammu, officials said Udhampur reported 160, Rajouri 155, Doda 58, Kathua 130, Samba 163, Kishtwar 30, Poonch 48, Ramban 201, and Reasi 96.

Right now, Jammu and Kashmir has 49893 active cases, which includes 29292 in Kashmir 20601 in Jammu. It means Kashmir has almost double the active cases in comparison to Jammu.
