SRINAGAR: In a musical collaboration, Padma Shri awardee and renowned artist Hans Raj Hans has partnered with the Kashmir-based production house, Allied Studios, to release Rehnuma e Mohtaram. The song is a fusion of Kashmiri Chakar music and Indian Qawwali, a genre-melding song that has been produced by Furqaan Baba and composed by Ehsan Ul Haq Masoodi.
Sung by Hans Raj Hans, “Rehnuma e Mohtaram* sho wcases the richness of both musical traditions, bringing together the soulful essence of Kashmir and the spiritual depth of Qawwali” said Muneeb Masoodi.
Allied Music Records, run by Muneeb Masoodi, has also been at the forefront of providing a free collaborative space for underground Kashmiri artists. “Among the artists that have collaborated with us are Aaqib Assad, Furqaan Baba, Numan Baba, and Ahmad Shahab, who played a lead role in the Bollywood film Welcome to Kashmir, for which Allied Studios did the casting,” said Masoodi.
The song is currently available on Spotify and other audio streaming platforms, with its video expected to be released soon.
