SRINAGAR: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday to discuss the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed at least 26 lives, mostly tourists.
Earlier in the day, Gandhi visited the Army hospital in Jammu and interacted with those injured in the attack. His meeting with the Chief Minister was held at Abdullah’s residence, according to officials.
Gandhi also called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan. He was joined by Congress leaders KC Venugopal, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Tariq Hameed Karra, and Rajya Sabha MP Syed Naseer Hussain. Discussions focused on various aspects of the attack, which took place on Tuesday in south Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
In a post on social media platform X, the Lieutenant Governor confirmed the meeting and the subjects discussed.
Gandhi also met several delegations, including trade representatives, student leaders, and tourism sector stakeholders.
