The unusual spike in night temperatures comes amid continued hot weather across Jammu and Kashmir, though relief from the ongoing heatwave is expected as the day progresses.

According to an update by the weather monitoring body, generally cloudy conditions prevail across the region, with a chance of rain and thunderstorms this afternoon, particularly in South Kashmir. Isolated areas in North and Central Kashmir may also be impacted.

The forecast brings hope for temporary relief across the Valley, which has witnessed unusually high temperatures in recent days, with maximums breaching normal thresholds.
