A special federal cabinet meeting under Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is currently underway over the ongoing military operations in the Jammu and Kashmir valley, Geo News reported.

13 militants and four civilians were killed, around 100 sustained injuries during the encounters between the government forces and militants in Islamabad and Shopian districts of south Kashmir on Sunday.

Sources said that the government will also deliberate on the measures to be taken in response to the developments in Kashmir, adding that the foreign office is expected to give a briefing on the issue to the federal cabinet, said a Geo News report.

Earlier before the meeting, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif, Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage, Marriyum Aurangzeb expressed their deep shock and grief over the killings in south Kashmir.
