Pakistan’s military has claimed it has shot down a small Indian drone after it allegedly trespassed into Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK). The report amid serious tensions between the rival armies that have already claimed nearly a score lives of soldiers and civilians.

AP, Pakistan’s official news agency quoted army spokesman Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa saying the drone, named Quad copter, was targeted after it intruded 60 meters inside PaK along the LoC.

The downing came after four villagers, three of them from one family, were killed in shelling from Indian side.

Both armies are accusing each other of breaching the 2003 ceasefire agreement that the two countries respected till 2016. Both the countries have vacated a number of villages to ensure there are no casualties in the cross-LoC-shelling.

Bajwa told reporters that the Pakistani troops have “taken over” the downed drone.
