The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has refused to grant a visa to Naeem Akhtar, the chief spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for a Track II conference scheduled to be held in Islamabad next week.

Sources said that Naeem Akhtar was scheduled to visit Pakistan on February 25 and he had applied for a visa.

They added that the Pak High Commission has refused to issue visa to PDP spokesman.

However, Akhtar has reportedly said that he did not know the status of his visa application. He has not received any official communication on the subject.

Akhtar was invited by the Jinnah Institute through the Centre for Development and Resolution (CDR) headed by Sushoba Bharve to Pakistan.
