In an unprecedented incident protesters after Friday prayers were seen waving Pakistani flag at Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta, Old City. Suddenly after the incident, the clicks started flooding on social networking sites evoking debates over the act.
“Soon as some youth started waving Pakistani flag, hundreds others joined the procession in no time reverberating pro-Pakistani anti-India slogans,” an eye witness told a local news agency, GNS.
The protesters were later dispersed by Police after firing shells in which two journalists- photojournalist of AFP and a cameraman from Press TV also got injured.
This was not the first time Pakistani flag came to fore in Valley. On August 14, this year, which marks the Independence Day for Pakistan, a group of anonymous girls were seen hoisting a Pakistani flag on the iron grills of Srinagar’s famous Pratap Park.
