SRINAGAR: A Pakistani national who allegedly crossed into Indian territory inadvertently was handed over to the Pakistan Rangers along the International Border in Jammu on Monday, officials said.
The man, identified as Nazir Sadhir, a resident of Luni Pundra village in Sialkot, was handed over by the Border Security Force (BSF) to the Rangers at the Golpattan Border Out-Post area, officials said.
Sadhir was apprehended in the Kanachak area of Jammu on September 3, shortly after he entered Indian territory from across the border.
During questioning, officials said, he was found to be a resident of a Pakistani border village and had inadvertently crossed the International Border.
Following the inquiry, BSF personnel contacted their Pakistani counterparts and held a flag meeting with the Pakistan Rangers. The Pakistani national was subsequently handed over to the Rangers, officials added.
