Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged firing in the Poonch sector Sunday evening. Army on Monday accused that Pakistani troops opened indiscriminate firing in Krishna Ghati sector. Army called it yet another violation of ceasefire by Pakistan.

The firing took place late Sunday night. According to army sources, the Pakistani troops targeted three Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district.

Describing it as a ceasefire violation, an army official said the firing was aimed at diverting attention of the troops from infiltration bids by militants from across the LoC that divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

The sources said the Indian Army, which retaliated with firing, did not suffer any loss.
