The residents told Kashmir Life that from last one month the locality has not received any supply from the store, forcing them to purchase from the market at an expensive rate.

“We have not received anything like rice, sugar, kerosene oil and other items since one month, unlike other areas who have completely received and distributed the items in last month itself.

The residents said that non-availability of items have caused extreme distress to the residents, “the village caters almost a middle-class families, who are not able to afford it from the private market,” one of the residents Bilal Ahmed told Kashmir Life.

“We are almost eighty households’, and we have not received anything since a month,” he added.

Commenting on this, Assistant Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Pulwama said that the department will talk to the concerned Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) and seek details regarding the issue.

“We actually send the supplies according to households registered in the area, but still we will look into the issue and ascertain the facts,” the official said.

Meanwhile, the Tehsildar Pampore told Kashmir Life that he cannot do anything in this regard, and rather than approaching the media the deputation should have come to the tehsildar office first.
