Apparently neutral and claiming only to work for developmental cause, group of Panchs and Sarpanchs on Sunday termed the  State of Jammu and Kashmir as ‘disputed’, and said that the sacrifices of the people of Kashmir would not be allowed to go waste.

Not only this, chairman United Forum, Haji Ghualam Nabi Mir also said that the forum would field its own candidates for the State Legislative Council elections, whose name would be announced on 14th November at Sheri Kashmir Park.

Meanwhile, another group of panchayat members held a meeting under the chairmanship of Sheikh Imtiyaz Afzal Beigh on Sunday at Bemina and it was reiterated that the group will not field any candidate to contest State Council elections.

“We’re for strengthening the democracy at the gross root level which isn’t possible without the implementation of 73rd amendment act 1993’, said Baig.)
