SRINAGAR: People’s Democratic Party, Langate constituency head, Ghulam Nabi Panditpuri on Saturday refused his support to Irfan Pandithpuri. Irfan joined Sajad Lone led Peoples Conference during the day.
A PDP statement quoted Ghulam Nabi terming his cousin’s joining of PC as “his own personal decision”.
“Irfan took this decision on his personal capacity,” Panditpuri was quoted saying. “I came to know his joining of PC on social media. I will not leave the party even if I lose again. I will continue to lead PDP in Langate.”
It is pertinent to mention here that in the previous elections, Panditpuri who was the PDP candidate managed to get 16000 votes.
With this statement, it is now clear that the power struggle is getting families divided. In case of Panditpuris’, now the one cousin is with the PDP and the another with PC. The Lone led PC is centered in Handwara, the home constituency of Lone.
