The work on Srinagar – Baramulla road from Parimpora to Narbal which has consumed more than a decade has now picked the pace.

“The four laning of Srinagar-Baramulla road starting from Parimpora is progressing at a fast pace,” Chief Engineer Beacon, Asish Kumar Das, said in a press conference here on Friday.

The main topping on the carriage way is expected to be completed by the end of May this year, the CE said.

“The litigation portion of the road is to be taken up due to administrative hindrances,” Das said. “The balance work will be carried out once the disputed areas are handed over by the state executive.”

Apart from Srinagar-Baramulla road, Chief Engineer reiterated the dedication of its ground workers which has ensured better condition of roads across the mountainous state. “The good condition of roads has minimized the frequent closure of roads on passes and tops which happens during winters,” he said.
