Mahant Dinesh Bharati has appealed Hindus to have five children each and asked them that they should be armed, The Indian Express reported. The appeal was made by the “prominent face of the 2008 Amarnath agitation” at a function that was attended by BJP state Chief and veterans from VHP and RSS in Jammu on Sunday.

Aap se nivedan…Ek Hindu paanch bacche paide karen aur paanchon ko chote haathon mein hathyar de aur hathiyar le kar eelan karey ki meri taraf kisi ne bhi aankh uthakar deekhi toh uski aankh nikal kar dikaunga,” the newspaper quoted Bharti saying. (Translation: “I have a request. Each Hindu should have five children and weapons should be given to all five children and they should take a pledge that if anybody looked at them with evil intentions, they will cut out their eyes.” The speaker said that by 2039, “no Hindu will be able to become the prime minister”.

Bharti was speaking at dharam sabha organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Jammu Sunday. It was presided over by Swami Jagadguru Hansadevacharyaji, the head of the Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti, an umbrella body of Hindu seers. Those who attended the function included State BJP chief Raina and former ministers Sat Sharma, Sham Choudhary, and Chander Parkash Ganga.

“Asking Hindus to ensure that a palatial Ram temple is constructed at Ayodhya, Bharati also said that no force on Earth could stop the construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya,” the newspaper reported. “In his address, Jagadguru Hansadevacharyaji asked the Centre to bring a Bill on the Ram temple in the current session of Parliament.”

The newspaper quoted governor Satya Pal Malik’s advisor K Vijay Kumar as saying: “We are examining the speeches. We will seek a legal opinion. If there is anything unlawful, necessary action will be taken.”
