SRINAGAR: Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 2024 is open for candidates who want to pursue their research in Canada. A PhD program, an MA/PhD, an MD/PhD, or a master’s program leading to a PhD are all eligible for the award. The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2023.
Eligibility for Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) requires applicants and the nominating university to meet the following requirements. Candidates must be full-time students at Canadian schools and pursuing a PhD for the first time. In addition, candidates can only be nominated by one university or institute as part of the Vainer CGS universities quota. Those enrolled in combined professional degree programs like MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, or JD/PhD are eligible to apply.
But only the PhD program will receive funding. By May 1, 2024, candidates must have finished their full-time doctorate program studies in a maximum of 32 months (for doctoral programs enrolled in joint graduate research programs that began immediately following a bachelor’s without getting a master’s degree). The length of time is determined as of the student’s official registration date for the joint graduate program (which is the first day of the time frame). Additionally, candidates need to have a sizable research background or component in the research project.
Benefits include a $50,000 (3,070,490 INR) award per year for three years of the PhD program.
Documents required to apply are a Canadian common CV (CCV), transcripts, a letter of nomination that is no more than two pages, a maximum two-page research proposal, five pages at most for project references, one page at most for research contributions and a two-page maximum personal leadership statement.
