A complete shutdown is being observed in parts of Budgam district and  Pampore townof Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Friday against the killings of two militants in a gunfight yesterday.

Mukhtar Ahmad Khan son of Abdul Ahad Khan, a resident of Brass Arizal Budgam and Mohammad Amin Mir son of Ghulam Rasool Mir resident of Drangbal Pampore were killed in a gunfight with forces in Zagoo area of Budgam on Thursday.

Both the militants were laid to rest yesterday at the ancestral graveyards at their native villages amid pro-freedom slogans.

All the shops and business establishments are closed in Budgam, while thin movement of public transport was visible.

Reports of the shutdown have also been received from Khansahab, Khag, Aripanthan, Beerwah, Poshker and Arizal areas.

Meanwhile, similar reports of the complete shutdown were received from Pampore township of south Kashmir in Pulwama district.

All shops and business establishments and educational institutions are closed in Pampore town, an eyewitness said.
