Hurriyat conference (M) leaders along with ‘The Voice of Victims’ organization activists, protested against the closure of Pathribal fake encounter case by army in press enclave on Thursday.

The protest was led by Hurriyat (M) leaders, Zafar Akbar Bhat and Javaid Ahmad Mir.

Hurriyat (M) demanded reinvestigation of the case and justice for the victims.

The protesters were carrying banners and placards reading slogans like “AFSPA a licence to kill”, “independent inquiry only way to justice”, “investigate all encounters”.

Talking to media persons Zafar said, “AFSPA is for the welfare of people but here in kashmir it is vice versa.”

The Hurriyat leaders also reminded a strike on 31st January in solidarity with the Pathribal victims.

“We call upon imams to raise this issue in the Mosques tomorrow” said Zafar. Later, the protesters dispersed peacefully.

Pertinently, Pathribal case closure by army has received wide condemnation. Even the rights organisation like Amnesty International (AI) and Human Rights Watch condemned it by calling it “Murder of Justice”

The unionist parties like National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) also came heavily against  the army decision.
