A PDD employee was electrocuted in Bandipora district last evening.
Giving details a police spokesman said a 25 years old Firdous Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Akbar Sheikh resident of Sheikhzoo Ganderbal, a daily wage employee received electric shock while repairing electric wires at Shadipora Bazar. The area falls in the jurisdiction of police station Sumbal in district Bandipora. He succumbed while on way to hospital. The body of deceased was handed over to his relatives after medico-legal formalities.
In another statement, police said two residential houses were damaged in two separate fire incidents in Kulgam and Srinagar.
Fire broke out in a residential house belonging to Liyaqat Ali Gorsi son of Taj Din Gorsi resident of Balsaran Drugdan Kulgam, resulting in damage to the house. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders with the assistance of police and locals.
