Senior National Conference leader and Minister for Rural Development Ali Mohammad Sagar Monday alleged that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) always believed divisive politics and divide people in the name of urban-rural, Gujjar-Kashmiri and other lines.

Talking to KNS Sagar said, “Why PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed remembers Kashmir issue now. He should remember that it is because of Omar (Abdullah) sahib that Kashmir issue is alive. He (Omar) kept it alive within and outside the assembly.”

Reacting to Mufti’s claims that he will solve the Kashmir issue if given majority, he said, “PDP is creation of New Delhi and it was formed to weaken NC. PDP are masters in playing divisive politics. They divide people in the name urban-rural, Gujjar-Kashmiri and other lines.”

“People will decide whom to vote and whom not. Only time will decide who will get how many sates,” he added.

Sagar asked Muftii why he remembers Srinagar city now. “They are the same people who wanted to shift capital from Srinagar to Parihaspora. People know who are their friends and who are enemies,” he said.

The NC leader claimed that PDP always tried their best to destabilise Omar government, ‘but failed.’ “Their only aim is power and they want to grab it by hook or crook. They are frustrated and desperately want power,” he said.

The Rural Development Minister said that it was NC founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah who always propagated for brotherhood between people of different sects, regions and religions in the state.
